Pictures are from the Hands Off Protest in Franklin. The Franklin atmosphere was alive with determination, fellowship and courage. There were many incredible signs!

The crowd of about 300 spilled into the four corners of the square’s intersection to be able to be seen by the passing traffic. Enthusiastic and peaceful as people chanted and drums pounded. A proud showing for our Western corner of North Carolina!

Success!! We are an organized Democratic County in the eyes of the North Carolina State Democratic Party!

The Cherokee County Democratic Party (CCDP) held their Annual Precinct/Cluster Meetings on March 22nd. At least one attendee from each of the sixteen precincts was counted as present. Officers and delegates to the County Convention were selected and plans made for Cluster events. Three Clusters planned to meet Chuck Edward's Carolina Cruiser in Andrews on March 26th and the fourth Cluster plans to participate in the Miles that Matter on Saturday, April 26th. In addition, many Dems plan to join the Hands Off Protest in Franklin on April 5th.

Below are pictures of the Clusters. Some members were counted in Absentia as they did not make the meeting, by were reached by phone. Some people got away before I remember to take pictures, but this is a great turnout!

On March 26th, Representative Chuck Edwards' (R) Carolina Cruiser visited Andrews where his staff was present to listen to constituents' concerns and provide assistance in working with federal agencies such as FEMA.  Several Cherokee County clusters, including Hiwassee, chose to participate in this activity. We had a good turnout for this event.

Some participants came with prepared questions to ask the staff. Questions revolved around Elon Musk's role in our government, food insecurity, changes to federal programs such as Medicaid, Medicare, and Social Security, the dissolution of federal agencies such as FEMA and the Department of Education, and the recent Signal security breach. Two staff members listened to concerns and questions and gave assurance that all questions would be answered and responses would be sent to each constituent who asked questions.

Others came to peacefully protest. Protesters carried signs and lined both sides of the street at the Andrews Town Hall building, which sits in front of our Headquarters.
